Summer fishing in Maine for trout and salmon can be tough due to low and warm water. Over the past summer, I took a trip up to Greenville with my dad and good friend, Liam. We were hoping to fish ponds in the area however we were on foot and the water was too warm for the brook trout to be on the surface. We stuck to fishing an outlet that drained from one of the big lakes in the area. Since it was technically a tailwater, the water temperature was cool and therefore more active fishing.

We were dealing with incredibly low water at the time which meant than many of the larger salmon and trout stayed in the lakes until the water level rose and they would be able to run up the rivers again.
